Our film Milk Teeth, directed by Tibor Banoczki, is to be shown in Sydney at the Biennale.

For the 17th Biennale of Sydney’s Wunderkammer Portable are presenting a grab-bag multiplicity of sights and sounds that brings together animations, experimental works, music videos, and narratives from all over the world in the service of asking the question: in the combination of technology, influence and imagination – are there new ways of looking at images?.

The film will be screening within a space called SuperDeluxe, an experimental pop up venue, starting on the 20th May.

erroll morris on philip glass

From Senses of Cinema (March 2004):

“The Philip Glass music! As you say, this is my third collaboration with Philip. The Thin Blue LineA Brief History of Time and now The Fog of War. And the music has, of course, been an essential part of all three of these movies. I can’t imagine any of them without his contribution. If the central theme of this movie is the inexorability of history versus the question of whether one man can make a difference, can change the course of historical events, there is something about Philip’s music – and this is true in all three films – that mirrors this, that mixes chance with a kind of inevitability. I may not be explaining it very well, but it provides a powerful metaphor, a musical metaphor, for the rest of the movie.”

film club at rb&hArts

From April I will be running a film club at the Royal Brompton Hospital as part of Royal Brompton and Harefield Arts.  There’s been an arts/entertainment programme at this hospital since the 19th century(!) so it’s an honour to be part of such an illustrious organisation.  I’ll be updating twitter with the films scheduled to be shown.

AK Dolven: The Day the Sky Became My Ground
[press release]

AK Dolven’s show at the Wilkinson Gallery opened last night.  One work it features is the installation Ahead (pictured) for which I did the sound design.  I can’t recommend going to view this show enough – get to Hackney, grab a blanket and enjoy.

You can get to Vyner St by going to Bethnal Green Tube, then it’s a 10 minute walk up Cambridge Heath Road.
